An Introduction-
PUBLIC WELFARE FORUM (PWF) A Regd. NGO Works in the field of Legal Research, Spreading Legal Literacy. Special Emphasis is laid on spreading awareness about RIGHT TO INFORMATION, HUMAN RIGHTS, and LEGAL AID & PIL. PWF also conducts case studies on various important social issues of Punjab and Nation.
About PWF -
Public Welfare Forum if to be termed it can be termed as an attempt towards betterment of existing society but for the team behind it, PWF is a dream, passion and their commitment towards the society. PWF aims at spreading Legal Literacy. Legal Literacy in simplest terms means the basic knowledge of law which a common individual must possess. Legal Literacy is one of the basic needs in today’s world; a citizen can’t live to its fullest until he is aware of basic knowledge of law. Our Constitution also strives for Legal Rights under Article 39A and it’s a fact much of our nation’s problems would be solved the day all citizens becomes legally aware, and this is the main aim of PWF.
PWF also works in the field of legal research and would lay special emphasis on Right to Information, Human Rights, Public Interest Litigation, Consumer Protection & Women and Child rights & Child Education.

UPCOMING PROJECTS –
1. Launch of Online RTI facility – PWF is soon launching online RTI (Right to Information) facility for those who don’t have knowledge about RTI or don’t want to disclose their name, PWF will draft an RTI on their behalf.
2. Online Courses & Social Media Awareness – PWF is going to launch online courses on Legal Literacy and a massive awareness drive for legal literacy would be launched.
3. State level Survey – By the end of this month PWF is initiating a State Level Survey to study what is the present condition of legal literacy in Punjab. Survey would be conducted in all 22 districts of Punjab with a total estimated sample size of 25000. Report of the survey would be handed over to Ministry of Law & Justice.
4. 100 Seminars & Reach to a Million – PWF is all set to initiate Legal Literacy Movement, with an estimate to conduct 100+ Seminars and with a mission to legally literate 1 lakh persons in next one year. This implies that the awareness would reach to around 1 Million people with a vision that each person will educate 10 others. This movement is set to be launched on this Independence Day.
5. Literature on Legal Literacy – PWF will endeavor to publish the best quality and economical literature on legal literacy, which will include journals, books, posters, stickers, CD’s and short films.
6. Research & Case Studies – PWF will hire interns and offer fellowships to young volunteers to carry out research and do case studies on Social Problems of the Nation.
Achievements of PWF –
PWF only within a short span has earned a lot of name in the field of NGO’s.PWF’s reach on social media has crossed 50,000 last week. PWF has also launched its unit in Amritsar, with soon to follow units at Chandigarh and New Delhi and also in other Districts of Punjab. PWF aims to be the one of the leading NGO’s of Northern India. We have already become one of the fastest growing NGO’s of Northern India. PWF has applied for its recognition and membership with Govt. of India NGO Programme Movement and with the United Nations.
